The railroad route is now owned by RJ Corman.
It is very unusual for a freight house to be attached to a depot. But after seeing a comparable depot in Mullins, SC, I now think the long attachment was a tobacco warehouse. I'm adding the "freighthouse" label to identify the additional function of this depot.

Randall Hampton posted Randall Hampton posted two photos with the comment: "Yesterday morning, the depot in Conway, SC on the line to Myrtle Beach caught fire and sustained heavy damage. It was built in 1928. Ray Bonhomme: Not good and hope they rebuild the old depot!!!! James Tuttle: Ray Bonhomme i doubt it, hasn’t been used for anything but storage in years and has been vandalized repeatedly. Homeless probably set it on fire cooking or who knows what else. The city should have made offer to save it and turn it into something like MB did. Too late now. |
