AC&Y = Akron, Canton, and Youngstown
As mentioned, by the time of Mark's picture, 1978, the DT&I used trackage rights on the B&O. I added a red line to a satellite image to show where the AC&Y crossed the B&O.
Mark Hinsdale posted "CG" Tower in Columbus Grove OH, protected the crossing of Baltimore & Ohio's north-south Toledo to Cincinnati main line and the east-west Akron, Canton & Youngstown line from Akron to Delphos OH. At one time, Detroit Toledo & Ironton's main line from the Detroit area south to Lima, Springfield and Ironton OH also ran through "CG," parallel to the B&O. Track consolidation projects in the 60's enabled DT&I to abandon its own line in favor of utilizing trackage rights on the B&O, as a southbound train is doing here.
