Ruthven, IA

Ken Bryan posted
Elevator row in Ruthven Iowa
I would have passed on these elevators except Jay provided some interesting insight.

Jay Lyon Shot is looking eastbound. In the foreground is the feed mill. The middle is where the corn comes in for the mill, now. The far one is an overflow elevator (Still used). The parent coop has built a new large mill at a nearby small town, (Ayrshire). The old M&St.L line to Ayrshire was East of this shot about 3 blocks away. That line was torn out in about 1978.
Jay Lyon This is looking Southeast. On the North side of the tracks is where the modern elevator is.

Street View is more of a drone or airplane view. It shows how the new elevator dominates the town.

The mainline was the Milwaukee Road. I confirmed with the CP Map that this route must have been part of the SOO purchase so it is now part of CP.
