RR Trax Studios posted Rob Sartain CSX owns the ex-SCL exx-L&N nee C&EI line from Yard Center south. Spring Hill Tower is preserved at Wabash Valley Railroad Museum in Terre Haute. [Since the tower is on the right of the Milwaukee tracks, this view is looking southeast. The locomotive would be on the former Big Four. The wires in the upper-left corner are part of the codeline for the C&EI. Looking behind the locmotive, I don't see a turnout. So CSX evidently removed the diamond of the Big Four crossing the C&EI since they owned both of them.] |
RR Trax Studios commented on their posting The Conductor working the hand-throw and electric lock. [The locomotive is on the CSX/C&EI and will switch to the CSX/Big Four] |

The following is a series of pictures highlighting Spring Hill Junction. If you zoom in on photo one you will see the current track arrangement with tracks labeled as to who owns what. Photo two is looking south at the crossing. Indiana Railroad is on the right, CSX to Evansville is on the left. Photo three is a closer look at the crossing.

Bill Foster posted twelve photos with the comment:
Back in November 2019 CSX and INRD removed the Spring Hill diamond and the old MILW main from the Spring Hill plant. INRD traffic to Van yard now uses the CSX Baker siding to the old Belt at what was Belt Jct. The Belt Jct diamonds were removed about year earlier. Traffic to Hulman street yard seesaws across the CSX main via a switch south of the old Spring Hill diamond and then onto the "Peavey" lead which is actually on the old E&I grade then to the former Indiana main towards Hulman street. They also removed the CSX main to Riley spur connection just south of Spring Hill road / north of the Peavey switch.Kenneth Jackson I was their September of 2019. Work was in progress at that time. Thanks for the update. I knew changes were in the works. I believe I may have a PDF of the proposal from the City of Terra Haute to CSX regarding the restructuring of the rail lines through Terra Haute. I will look.
