The Aban/UP/C&NW(1958)/Litchfield & Madison and Aban/NS/NW/NKP/Cloverleaf paralleled each other into the St. Louis area. The Alton & Southern (ALS) may be a terminal railroad because it still has that name on the
SPV Map.
As with many junctions we have looked at, the current Class I railroads have ripped up so much track that the diamonds no longer exist. But in this case, the tower may still exist! The track that remains here is the ALS.
The Illinois Central had trackage rights over the L&M for their passenger trains between Chicago and St. Louis. This is an IC locomotive on the L&M.
