Chillicothe, IL: Santa Fe Roundhouse

(Satellite, the turntable is long gone)

Chillicothe Area Historical Society posted
Back when they still needed to turn the steam engines around this is the machine that did it in Chillicothe Il
Deb Kauzlarich: There was a forge out there as well. My dad was one of those guys who could do anything and would go out and use the forge. He'd take me along sometimes so I could play out there and climb all over the steam engines that were there. I loved it.

The roundhouse (yellow) was a quarter of a circle. The depot (blue) was east of Benedict Street.
