Lemont, IL: Santa Fe Depot

Bill Molony -> Chicagoland Railfan
Bill did not comment. James answered a question as to when it was torn down.
James L. Ludwig: 1983 it was razed so as to position the cranes for the construction of the Lemont Road Bridge. It was offered for sale with relocation by the purchaser but no one made a reasonable offer. The Milepost 25 is located where the far east end of the platform was.
It was no longer used because the commuter service through this town to Joliet is provided on the former GM&O tracks.

[This looks like brick. I wonder why it was replaced because the newer one does not look larger. Or did they "modernize" it by filling in some windows and adding some siding?]
