Bill Edrington commented that he remembered the B&O depot, but not the Clover Leaf depot. Looking at the 1928 RR Atlas, this is another town on the north/south B&O branch that ran from
Beardstown to
Shawneetown. I still have not found the name of the railroad that originally built this route. In 1914 this route was named the "Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern." Jon Roma has
a picture of the B&O depot.
This is another town that used to have two railroads, but it now has none. I could not find a Sanborn Map for this town. It sits on the edge of two aerial photos.
They did not want to waste valuable space "downtown" for a connector between the railroads, so it appears they built one north and west of the town.

Roger commented that the NKP depot has been moved to Pioneer Park. They did do some needed restoration work.

From Shelby County Illinois historical documentation: This road was formerly known as the Springfield and Pana R. R., afterwards as the Springfield and South-eastern R. R., and on the first of April, 1875, it was sold to the 0hio & Mississippi R. R. Company. It was built under a charter obtained in 1865, and completed in 1870. The first construction train to run from Pana to Springfield was on the 28th of October, 1869. The first through train from Beardstown to Shawneetown, was run on the 28th of March, 1872.
