Glenwood, IA: Preserved/CB&Q Depot

(Satellite)

Street View, Dec 2021

I could not determine who owns the building now. Does BNSF use it as an office?
Michael Emerson Avitt posted
Glenwood, Iowa - still standing today.
Terry Hartley: St Joseph train crews to Pacific Jct stayed at a hotel in Glenwood. Then would get their southbound train at P Jct after their lay over for rest.
Dennis DeBruler: Thanks for noting that it still stands. That makes it worth looking for: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mBBTdejAaugM5HFT9

This is on the mainline between Chicago and Denver.

I wondered why the town grew up away from the depot on the other side of Keg Creek. This topo map shows why. The CB&Q route, and thus the depot, was built on the side of a bluff.
