Lost Wood Grain Elevator: (Satellite)
Kevin Schertz posted Kevin Schertz: I do not know where it originally sat but at least they saved it. Eston J Ellis: This station sat about a block south of it's current location. It was moved in 1976 for the Bicentennial. It serves as the Bellflower Museum. It also served as the Village Hall for almost 30 years. Billy Irvin: The only surviving Gilman Clinton & Springfield depot. Of course it ended service as Illinois Central. Richard Fiedler shared William Shapotkin: Several years ago, my wife and I looked for this station (along the railroad tracks) and could not find it. On our way out of town, she stopped the car and said to me: "That looks like a train station." While I do not have hopes of making a railfan out of her, she at least knows what to look for... |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Kevin's comment It appears that it was at the end of Vine Street. |
It had two wood grain elevators in the 1970s along with at least a couple of jump-form silos.

The current grain elevator is a block northwest of the original elevator. It is fairly large, but it is not rail served.

Bellflower is on the route that connected the two IC mainlines in Illinois between Clinton and Gillman.
