This is the former Toledo & Ohio Central (Ohio Central Lines) passenger station in Columbus, completed and opened to the public in 1896. The T&OC, formerly under the control of C&O predecessor Hocking Valley Railway, was acquired in 1910 by NYC affiliate Lake Shore & Michigan Southern, which in turn was merged into the NYC in 1914. The T&OC maintained its separate identity until 1922, when the NYC leased it and began operating it directly. It was finally fully merged into the NYC in 1938.In 1930 the NYC moved its former T&OC passenger trains into Columbus Union Station. Union Station was already in use by trains of the Big Four, which operated the majority of NYC System passenger trains serving Columbus. Today, the T&OC station is owned by International Association of Firefighters Local 67, which has its offices there. The waiting room is also used for weddings and other events.
