West Newton, PA: CSX/B&O Depot

(Satellite)

The ADHD Historian added
Vintage Postcard of the West Newton B & O Train Station. The first trains ran from West Newton to Connellsville in 1855. The station is still standing, and was built in 1893 by architect Ephraim Francis Baldwin who designed many train stations.
Chris Valentovich shared
Louis Toman: Wonder what it takes to save a building? Still used by CSX MW forces. Remember it looked much better in my younger years when the Capitol Limited made a station stop there.

This topo map may have marked the location of the depot, but it used a square instead of a rectangle. And it did nor orient the mark parallel to the tracks.
