A couple of BN SD60M move coal empties west at New Salem, ND in the summer of 1994.

I'm also glad that there are very few trees out west blocking the views.

Thanks for the wood grain elevator in the background. You also caught that BN was servicing that elevator with a cut of hopper cars. That elevator is still standing:

I think the western elevator is a feed mill. And/or they store various edible bean crops.

The railroad was the Northern Pacific. It is now the BNSF.

There are a couple of cuts of cars parked in the left background. This is more evidence that BNSF does provide rail service to the elevators.
