Maxwell Crosby: The Bremen depot is cool. It was moved to the outskirts of town by US-6 and a nice display is now there. Very unique styling

Yes, they did a nice job. Here was my last picture of it in its original location, before the move you referenced.

Is it still by US-6? I looked along that road on a satellite map, but I could not find it. I believe this was the original location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WAJHkg6RijHS8RmdA. 1956 aerial photo
Maxwell Crosby: Dennis DeBruler ok I was kinda off. It’s in the fork in the road at Douglas Rd and Destiny Drive just off 6, just south of the Bremen Animal Clinic. You can see it from US-6 if you know when to look.

Thanks. I see they also preserved a CPL signal. https://maps.app.goo.gl/mrUMP6C3Ume94xsb6. This depot caught my eye because it looks more like an East Coast depot than a Midwest depot.
Maxwell Crosby: Dennis DeBruler it’s eye catching to me because of just how unique looking it is. Almost looks more like an older home then a depot, especially when you look at nearby Nappanee.
It must’ve made quite a statement for those that called on it back in the B&O days

I wonder what industry in 1956 had the rail service that is now used by a grain elevator.

There used to be some concrete silos here as well.

The elevator has a rather long fall protector.

Is this their locomotive? They would need one because I'm sure CSX would not do the switching that is needed to load a unit train here.

At the east end of the long siding is a pocket track. So, the elevator could park their locomotive here and after CSX leaves a train on the siding, the elevator's locomotive can load the train. There is about a mile between here and the other end of the siding near Center Street, so it can hold a unit train. And Douglas Road has an underpass so a bunch of hopper cars on the siding won't impact local traffic.

While looking for the current location of the depot, I found another elevator in this town.

Some of the bins in that elevator are pretty big.

Bonus: a machine shop

I learned that the above photo was part of a series of 360-degree views. If you access the link, you can go on a walking tour of the plant.
