Tower: (Satellite, is it still standing or is that a tall signaling cabinet?)
The building on the left of this photo is what motivated me to look for the depot in this town. The bridge in the background is a lift bridge over the Mississippi River.
This is what the railfans were waiting for as caught in Watertown, WI.
Coming from the Northwest is CB&Q by the river and Milwaukee next to it. The St. Croix Tower is where the CB&Q crosses the Milwaukee and heads East while the Milwaukee continues South across the Mississippi River.
The first two photos show that the tower is where the tracks fork. But there are two forks. But this aerial photo shows the tower in the upper-left corner has the track arrangement that we see in the last two photos. Now that I know where to look, the above topo mark does mark the location of the tower.
