I wonder what the World's Largest Map is all about. There were several more older motels along this road that I didn't bother to record.

Is this an antique car museum or just a painted building? I got an angle view to catch the Packard sign.
Evidently this building was restored as an ice cream shop in time for the 100th year anniversary of Route 66 (2026). After all, every tourist town needs ice cream. I wonder if Kingman also has a fudge shop.
This is off the beaten path. I just happened to notice it.

And at least one old gas pump. What is the tank in the front of the car for?

Kingman, AZ September 17, 2026--We arrived in Kingman just in time to take a quick tour through the museum before it closed. It had a good exhibit, so glad we could see it. We ate at Mr. D'z Route 66 Diner, a fun place with good food. A highlight for me was having my cousin from Kingman join us for supper. I hadn't seen her in years. We spent the night at the Arizona Inn.

There is a mural to the right of the caboose in the above view, but it is hard to get a good view of it.
The other two walls of the backside of the building also have murals.
Barbwire was important for the taming of the west. If I remember correctly, each way of twisting the wire was probably a patent.
I soon learned that the above display was just half of the collection.

We got some crazy rain from #Hurricane Rachel last night. Many business closed today... No #thrifting for me today.. |
Is this Hurricane Rachel, and/or the other storms I've seen this season, dumping some of its rain in the Colorado River upstream of Lake Mead?
If they are, the water has yet to reach Lake Mead. (Full pool is 1,229.)
