The grain elevator is big considering ICG pulled rail service a long time ago.

The building has an angle because the NCaStL came through this crossing on an angle.

Union City, Tennessee: Passenger & Freight Station, Mobile & Ohio Railroad/Nashville, Chattanooga & St Louis Railroad. The Notes give us two views of the joint NC&StL/M&O Passenger & Freight Station at Union City. The first is the of the rear of the Station and the second is a track side view looking west down the NC&StL, with the M&O crossing the horizontal center of the photograph. Northbound is to the right. The Notes estimate the Station was built in about 1891. The photograph was taken on 16 May 1916.

Wanda Robinson: If that is the depot at Pearl, why does it have Glen Echo on sign? My dad worked at the depot in Pearl for many years.

Barbara Donovan: Wanda Robinson didn't even noticed that but it's the Gemini photo app that makes changes when it's colorized. I always try to post the original under the colored one. I'll see if I can correct that. Thanks!

Thought you might be interest in a different strip mine machine built by a German company and assembled for the Peabody Coal mine in Braidwood, Illinois.

Rick Degler: We tore it down in 1972 move it to pit 6 from Northern mine.

Pete Craddock: They moved it down to River King mine in 1972 and 73 south of the Randolph prep plant. We called it the Krup wheel. It worked in the same arra as the 3850.

Guy Kasper: Pete Craddock I was on the construction crew ,, Blue prints were in German and we found parts by pictures up on the hill.. they didn't buy metric bolts to put back together we had to ream holes out to SAE bolts ..

Dave Dvorak: Was assembled and dug at Peabody Coals Great Northern Mine, Braidwood, Il.
