An old coaling tower still in the Ludington Yard! Caution got into some serious thorns getting some of the shots of this tower!!

Ludington is in Michigan and was the terminal for railcar ferry service to Manitowoc, WI.

Mike Tabone Since this photo was taken its been closed off with a dirt berm and numerous no trespassing signs. You can still get descents shots of it though.
Dennis DeBruler It looks like the two chutes have become detached from the structure. It is kinda hard to imagine how it was supposed to look. I sure would not want to get very close to this one.
Mike Tabone She's stabilized now but every time we go down there with the engine to run around the trains I wonder if it will be enough to make it fall over.

Wyoming Yard C&O electrician Dick Blakely Photo was facing basically east when he took this shot of the C&O Ludington, Michigan, roundhouse in April of 1965. Dick took the photo from the top of the sand tower, which was just west of the roundhouse. Freight cars fill the yards to the left, too.
