| Ken Durkel posted Elkhart & Western R203 heads north across the CF&E in Plymouth, Indiana as the old Pennsy "red snake eyes" protect the crossing on a hot hazy morning. September 22, 2017. |
Ken also noticed the red snake eyes. Amtrak does not use the CF&E. I wonder if CF&E carries hazardous materials. Or, if it does carry hazardous materials, do they travel slow enough that this route does not have to be upgraded to PTC? If it does not need to upgrade to PTC, then maybe these Pennsy position signals will live on.
