I debated about putting BNSF in the title since it was abandoned long before BNSF was created. But I added BNSF because the tracks by it are very much active.
Rich Hitchcock posted A left-over coaling tower was still in Great Bend KS as of Nov 23, 2001. Dennis DeBruler The C&NW logo cars in 2001 is also interesting. Isn't this a BNSF/Santa Fe route? Mark Mitscher Dennis DeBruler it's the original ATSF mainline, now operated by the Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad. |
Back when it was still intact.

I love it when a railfan is driving the street view car. Who else would go to the end of Morphy Street? I've never seen problems with the camera being tilted before.

Mark Mitscher posted ATSF - Great Bend, KS Dennis DeBruler I especially like the coaling tower. They stand as a monument to the strength of well constructed reinforced concrete. Enough railroads had trouble bringing them down that some railroads decided to not bother to remove them because they are on brownland that has little retail value. https://www.google.com/.../@38.3552037,-98.../data=!3m1!1e3 |
