Beason was on the route between Lincoln and Clinton. I presume the CH&W was Clinton, Havana & Western. According to the key on this map, it was built between 1872-73 and the 131-mile route was admitted to the IC in 1888.
The town's grain elevator has done well even though it has been without rail service for a while.
