Lima, OH: NS (NS) Tower: CSX/B&O and NS/NKP vs. CFE(CSX)/Pennsy

(Satellite)

NS tower in Lima Ohio. July 1995. Crossing of Conrail (Pennsy) with CSX and NS. Referred to as MO tower on one of my maps.??
[The SPV Map clearly identifies it as MO Tower. (Update: a photo by Steven below clearly shows a NS sign on the tower. It is very unusual for those maps to make that type of mistake.)
That map also indicates that the predecessor of B&O was Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton, and the predecessor of NKP was Lake Erie & Western.]

Looking down Conrail's ex-PRR Fort Wayne Line at NS Tower and the junction with CSX's ex-B&O Toledo Subdivision in Lima, Ohio - August 3, 1991. The tower was torn down in 1999 but the depot remains.
Mark Egebrecht: Same spot in 1998. Note that the PRR SIGNALS have been replaced with NYC tri-lights, which have been replaced themselves. NS Tower was razed the following year.

I've been there. 1977. The ex-PRR was still double track.

A C&O E7 1419 in front of a southbound B&O passenger (possibly "The Cincinnatian" ) in Lima, Ohio. The tower on the left is NS Tower that guarded the crossing of PRR's Ft. Wayne Line, NKP line to Frankfort, IN and B&O's Toledo Division. Photo by my Grandfather Wilber C. Smith back in October 1966.

Conrail YlLI10 is headed back to Cole Street Yard from P&G located east of Lima, Ohio on April 17, 1995. The 8211 has it's eight tank cars well under control this fine spring day. NS Tower is still in operation at this time and looking good! Photo by Dale A. DeVene Jr.

The comments of the following posting concentrate on the engine and train, but they do indicate this is a northbound B&O between 1950-56. Note that the smokestack is blowing relatively clear smoke.
