This was on the C&NW branch that went from DeKalb, IL, to three coal mines in Spring Valley. It still goes to Troy Grove because of sand mines.
A Flickr photo of a UP sand train. This one is going through Triumph, IL. It also shows another grain elevator to which UP or C&NW refused to provide rail service.
