Bill Molony posted The Illinois Central depot at Peotone, Illinois was located between North Street and Main Street in Peotone Township of Will County. The horizontal siding on the station's lower portion, combined with the vertical siding on the upper portion was common on early Illinois Central depots. This depot was later replaced by the IC with a smaller one. |
The passenger waiting room was on the right and the freight handling was on the left. And the train order semaphores are still standing.

This depot is still standing today, but it has been privately owned for quite some time and is currently occupied by The County Depot, Inc., an antique and collectable store. [Street View] |
