Huntworth is about 1/2 mile north of Elmira at the top of the ten mile grade from Boyne Falls. The GR&I put in a 3 track yard, 3 stall enginehouse, turntable, coal dock, water tank and various other facilities. Helper engines stationed there helped trains up Elmira Hill. By the mid 1920's traffic had declined to a point that helpers were no longer needed and the engine house and turntable were abandoned. The yard tracks were eventually pulled up except one that lasted until Penn Central days. When I worked at the Michigan Northern all that was left at Huntworth was a stub track that held 30 cars that was used for doubling the hill and a phone booth.

Thank you for this! In 1966 my family purchased this land and many acres of tillable farm fields next to it. When we lived there I recall some LARGE chunks of concrete near the crossing next where the roads met in a "T". Would LUV to have a large copy of the blueprint you posted here
