West Salem, IL: IC/PD&E Depot

(Satellite, The freight car is probably where the mainline was; and, judging from the 1941 aerial photo below, the depot was south of Church Street. A grain elevator was south of Seminary Street. There were probably team tracks east of the depot.)

The photo is not only from the steam era, but also from the horse-and-buggy era. This town was on the PD&E branch of the IC.

Corbin Butterick: this might be the newest photo of the West Salem depot on the internet, cool to see ICG running on the line, I don't think I've seen any ICG equipment on it aside from the caboose in Grayville.
