I'm very familiar with this cement terminal because it is in the background of some of the photos of Manitowoc Engineering and because it was a common destination of the St. Marys Challenger.

Given the smokestack, I wonder if they used to make cement here.

Because Burger Boat is just south of this plant, it appears in the background of this photo.

Because of the rather long and serpentine river passage to get to the cement plant, there are plenty of boatfan photos of tug+barges going to and from the plant.

This is the post that motivated writing these notes. The tug/barge is outbound and it backs up until it gets to this turning basin.

Connor Siemers posted a comment that provides travel times: "St. Marys Challenger/Prentiss Brown is Manitowoc bound. 1 hour upriver to its dock/terminal then 2 hours to unload then 1 hour back out to Lake Michigan."
