Andy Zukowski posted The Gulf Mobile & Ohio Railroad Depot in Carlinville, Illinois. 1990
Terry Harris: There was a pay phone on the northwest corner of the building. I used it one time (long story why) to call the Bloomington dispatcher and tell him we'd stopped to check something we noticed running hot in Macoupin Bottoms. |
The east west route was also the Chicago & Alton.

1923/23 Carlinville Quad @ 48,000 |
I first looked for a location near the crossing of the two C&A routes. It looks like the junction tower was in the southwest quadrant. The rectangular building on a connector in the southeast quadrant looked promising, but this street view shows that it was not a depot.
And then I noticed a building with two roof lines that was between some tracks at the west end of 1st Street. We can see there was a house track behind the depot in Andy's photo.
