Grand Trunk Western Railroad Birmingham Depot
245 South Eton St. Birmingham Gardens Sub Rail District City of Birmingham, Mi
Designed & Built by Walbridge & Aldinger
Built in 1930
Formerly: Norman’s Eton Street Station
Unique facts:
-It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
-The original rail lines ran alongside Woodward Avenue, but in the 1920s, due to the increase in both population and automobile traffic, the decision was made to widen Woodward. Grand Trunk was induced to abandon their right-of-way along Woodward and move their tracks a mile eastward.
-Cost, $125,000 ($1,873,743.75 adj. 2025)

That looks like a good use of the waiting room.
The widening of Woodward Ave. explains why the depot is a couple blocks east of the downtown area.
