The Reaper Block was located at the intersection of South Oakley Ave. & West 26th St. It was designed by John M. Van Osdel and built in 1873.But that is the address of the factory, not this office building. This building was on the northeast corner of Clark and Washington. Chicagology confirms that it was built after the 1871 fire. To quote that site: "...fronting 90 feet on Clark and 75 feet on Washington, 6 stories high, or 65 feet, with basement, 6 stores, 80 offices, and 1 elevator. It was erected in 1873, and is occupied by a desirable class of tenants, on account of its nearness to the courts."
It was demolished in 1957. Today it is a corner of the Daily Plaza.
