Peoria, IL: C&NW Wooden Coaling Chute

Just because a coaling facility was made of wood, it doesn't mean it was small. It just means, unlike some of the concrete towers, you will not be able to find it today. I think the coal hoppers where shoved up that ramp so that they could dump directly into the bins.

This was shared to a group where Richard Fiedler commented: "I believe this is the C&NW coal chute in Peoria."

Google search was not able to find "Dodge" or "Washington," but by following C&NW up from Pekin, I found SW Washington, and the Dodge. Given the location, I was able to find it on the 1939 photo.
