This depot was built in 1881. It was moved to Monee for a few decades, and then it was moved back to Beecher. [rypn]

I was surprised that there were no back rectangles along the tracks.

An old aerial photo shows that there should have been some. The depot was east of the tracks, and there are multiple rectangles west of the tracks.
The move to Monee and back explains why it used to be parallel to the tracks but is now parallel to the road.
