Bob has posted a few photos of flour mills in Kansas. But they no longer operate the flour mill. Sometimes the elevator part is still used. But this mill is not only operating, they have invested money in the buildings.

Not all of the flour mills in central Kansas have closed. The Wall-Rogalsky Flour Mill in McPherson Kansas was established in 1909. I think it was the 4th generation of this closely held business that sold the mill in about 2000 to Cereal Food Processors. It changed hands again about 15 years later and is now one of Cereal Craft's mills. McPherson is on the Rock Island (now UP) mainline and a former Santa Fe branch line.

They have done enough remodelling of the buildings that I did Street View all around the block. This view helps verify that I have the correct subject in the satellite link at the top of these notes. (There is another elevator just a couple of blocks away.)
