Perth Amboy, NJ: Lehigh Valley Terminal

(Satellite, I wonder how well they cleaned up the soil before they built Harbortown Terrace)

Jack Bobby Lou Mulreavy posted two photos with the comment: "I know we have a lot of Lehigh Valley folks in the group but these are of interest to all. These are photos of the Lehigh Valley waterfront terminal in Perth Amboy NJ."
Paul O'Brien: The area immediately south of the Outerbridge was developed into a hybrid dry/liquid bulk terminal: a tank farm to handle chemical and petroleum products and dry bulk facility for Morton Salt and kitty litter. When i worked for the owner of the terminal, the old LV property was developed as a high-end condo complex- Harbourside. We had some battles. The parcel to the north of the Outerbridge was owned at one time by ASARCO and was one nasty Superfund site.
Now terminal is run by Kinder Morgan. Only liquid bulk.

[The tank farm next to the bridge sure has grown.]

A 1957 aerial photo shows that the whole area inland from the piers was full of tracks.

You can still see remnants of the piers.
