Hoyleton, IL: Depot, Grain Elevators and WRP Lagoons

Depot: (Satellite, east of Center Street and north of the tracks.)

The railroad was originally The Illinois Southern Railway. Then it became the Missouri-Illinois Railroad, which was a MoPac subsidiary.

The grain elevator that existed in 1938 has grown. The original buildings and sidings are gone, but the curved road is still evident.

It appears that Clover Leaf Grain also sells fertilizer and has a feed mill.

Now that I learned about lagoons for wastewater reclamation because of Sun Tan Valley, AZ, I spotted lagoons for this town. (Note the combine at the bottom near the center.) It looks like they are using a series design. I presume the small one with the two aerators is the initial treatment pond.

A topo map confirmed that the lagoons are a WRP.
