| Andy Zukowski posted Rockford, Rock Island, and St. Louis Railroad Depot in Adair, Illinois Adair was fostered by the Rockford, Rock Island, and St. Louis Railroad, which came through in 1870, but it was named Reedyville. John Reedy had donated land for the depot, and with Jacob Grimm, he had platted the town. In the 1880s, the name was changed to Adair, although it was apparently known as Shoofly for a short time because it had a store by that name. Randy Chambers: That line ran through Monmouth Illinois . It went through Harmon park. It went from Bushnell Illinois up into Rio Illinois back on the main line. Everybody always thought it was cb&q back off the get-go but no it was not Larry Candilas: Became CB&Q around 1899 MP 151.3 Beardstown Sub |

Since the grain elevator was still present when I accessed the satellite map, I saved an image.

I did not like the resolution of this photo, so...

...I found a 1963 aerial. Here we can clearly see the access road to the depot that is between Walnut and Cherry Streets.

I noticed that the castellated silo appears to have a headhouse at the top. This silo existed in the 1941 aerial photo. Is there a leg built into the silo? If so, how? There is a conveyor over the two new silos coming from the headhouse.
