THIS USE TO BE WHEELING PITTSBURGH STEEL PLANT ALLENPORT PA.
Jeff Picka: My copy of Iron and Steel Works of the World from 1956 suggests that the Pittsburgh Steel Co used this plant to make hot and cold rolled sheets, seamless pipes, forged tubular products, and seamless mechanical and pressure tubing. Their Monessen site had the blast furnaces, basic open heart furnaces for ingot production, and some rod and wire mills.

Mel Stewart posted two photos with the comment: "Allenport tandem mill motor room 10,000 H.P. MG SET."
Stanley Quick: We had two side by side but only 800 hp each. Looks about the same. Hated changing brushes on them. Had to sand them in. Even changing only 10 % at a time.
Mel Stewart: Stanley Quick there is another set behind this one. 10,000 HP. YOU ARE RIGHT STAND IN THEM. WE CHANGED ONLY SHORT ONES EVERY WEEK. SOMETIMES THEY WERE HOT. OR VERY WARM.
