It was gone by 1966. The tracks added to the shop building would reduce the need to use the transfer table between the shop buildings.

Milwaukee yards in Miles City. This was a great place to watch trains growing up.

Sharon Bennett: My father, Jim Frost, was there as the last man working for the Milwaukee Lines West. Long after the railroad went bankrupt, he continued to oversee the cleanup and final transactions. He was in Miles City from the spring of 1984 until December 1985 recovering diesel fuel that had spilled over for many years. He got his final paycheck in the fall of 1986.

I noticed the grain elevator had a fall protector. And this image confirms the elevator is rail served with a small cut of hoppers. Once again, Canadian National does not insist that an elevator can handle a unit train of hoppers. I included the True Value store in the image because that too is becoming history. Downers Grove, IL, lost all three of its True Value stores after some "big box" retailers got built nearby. We now have to drive to Western Springs when we want something carried by True Value.

Although this country elevator getting rail service might also be a statement about the clout of Consolidated Grain and Barge Co.

"The City of Hamlet purchased the station from CSX and moved it across the tracks to its current location.  The station was completely restored and is used by Amtrak as a waiting room for the Silver Star trains (# 91 + # 92, both daily, both stop in Hamlet overnight)." [RailfanLocations]

The 440-ton, 22,400 square foot historic Hamlet Depot was raised and relocated to the opposite side of the tracks nearer Main Street in 2004.

"In 1870, a railroad ran from Wilmington to the Pee Dee River and on to Charlotte. In 1877, a railway was established running from Raleigh to Augusta. The crossroads of these two rails occurred at Hamlet and spurred population growth for this town. Hamlet, incorporating on February 9, 1897, has always been a railroad town with five spurs radiating from the town to Richmond, Wilmington, Atlanta/Birmingham, Savannah/Charleston and Columbia."

David Harbaugh posted two photos with the comment: "A couple more shots from when CSX R172, the Orange Blossom Special first arrived in Hamlet and started the long process of wye'ing their train to head east to Pembroke to regain the A-Line in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo in September 1989. Hamlet had power but Jacksonville had no control over signals and switches due to the hurricane damage further south. My photos."

Jeanne Holland Newton: Currently, the Hamlet Historic Depot which is the Seaboard Air Line and Seaboard Coastline Museum which is part of the Hamlet Depot & Museums Complex. It’s the most photographed historic train station on the East Coast.

Durand Union Station-Michigan Railroad History Museum posted two photos with the comment:

Today’s featured depot is the Ann Arbor station in Ithaca 🚂

Ithaca was settled around 1850 and is located between Ashley and Alma. The Toledo, Ann Arbor & North Michigan Railroad reached Ithaca in 1884 and began regular operations that same year. Presumably, the depot was built shortly thereafter. The photo on the bottomshows a later version of the Ann Arbor depot.

In September of 1895, the Ann Arbor Railroad Company filed to acquire the Toledo, Ann Arbor and North Michigan at foreclosure. 

Unfortunately, this depot no longer exists.

After working the Zeeland Farm Services complex outside of town, the Great Lakes Central's ONTN passes by an old grain elevator as it gets back on the move north through Ithaca, Michigan. Powering the train are two EMD SD35's, which were acquired from MRL and patched to enter service.

Joshua Stephen Miller posted six photos with the comment: "Picked up a load of kidney beans from an old granary in Ithaca today. Cool old architecture! The original structures were built in 1895, and the additions are from the 1950’s. I snapped a few photos while I was getting loaded up. One of the great things about driving truck for a living is just going places and seeing cool stuff."
