The Blackhawk Railway Historical Society posted This is the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad's depot at Chicago Heights, as it looked on June 10, 1984. Dwight Smith: When did the last passenger train stop there? I don't recall any when I was growing up there in the 1960's. I do remember the C & EI and, of course, the iconic green IC electric commuter trains. The Blackhawk Railway Historical Society: This depot was never served by any passenger trains; it was strictly for freight traffic. Bill Molony shared |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Bill's share According to a comment on another post and the photo, it was the rectangular building in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Chicago Road and the EJ&E tracks. The tracks across the top were the Michigan Central. https://clearinghouse.isgs.illinois.edu/webdocs/ilhap/county/data/cook/flight24/0bwq01036.jpg |
