This was the C&EI's route to the Thebes Bridge. It was abandoned by MoPac. I note that MoPac had their own route in Illinois that connected the bridge with Mount Vernon. The MoPac route went north along the Mississippi to Chester, and then it headed eastish to Mount Vernon where it joined the former C&EI route to Chicago.
