It looks like they have preserved a passenger car as well as the depot. The depot was a restaurant. It is now an event space.

The depot, which was built in 1867, has a large freight room on the left end and a small passenger waiting room and office on the right end. When is the last time that you passed an older building and automatically knew it's purpose?

While driving through Piercton, Indiana, for a work meeting, I instantly knew what I was looking at as I turned the corner.

Built in 1867, the Pierceton train depot served as an Italianate-style passenger and freight station along the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne, and Chicago Railroad line, later operated by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Pennsylvania Railroad famously merged with New York Central to create Penn Central in 1968, only to declare bankruptcy in 1970, become acquired by Conrail in 1976, and split between Norfolk Southern and CSX in 1999.

In addition, the depot has an ACL 201 passenger car that because had a variety of purposes over the years (ACL eventually becoming part of CSX).

Today, the depot (The 3863 Venue) is active as a beautiful wedding and private event venue in the heart of Pierceton, Indiana! It's great to see history that has been restored and kept alive for future generations to see.

Aaron Carlson: Gary Miller - this part of the state is scattered with old depots as well! If you identify where the tracks are, or were, and where they intersect with a small town, you will likely find some physical remnants of the steam era.
