This mine was West and Southwest of Du Quoin. Burning Star #2 was the mine to the Northwest.

They manufactured a "liquid oxygen explosive" (L.O.X.) in a plant that was on site. On Feb 14, 1941, there was an explosion in the plant killing all seven employees that were present. [USmineDisasters]

James Stine: The 3rd Bucyrus-Erie 1650-B stripping shovel built for United Electric Coal Company’s Fidelity Mine near DuQuoin, Illinois late in 1961, perhaps very early in 1962. This shovel sported a 135 ft. Boom with a 70 yd. Dipper. She worked steadily until the early 1990’s. I’m not sure right now.
[The comments talk about a 1650 in another mine as well.]

Eric Roethe posted five photos with the comment: "Here are some more pictures from Fidelity #11.  These are pictures of walking the BWE and shovel across 152 west of DuQuoin where the haul road overpass was/is.  I barely remember this.  Also a group photo.  I know my dad is on the far right, but I don't recognize anyone else except one in the middle might be Sam Riggio.  I'm hoping a few people here might be of some help."
Jerry Lacy: Walking the 1650 shovel without mats. [See Eric's comment photo below.]
Brian Collins: This move was made August of 1978.
James Clements: wasn’t consol burning star#2 mine close by
Jerry Lacy: James Clements yes, there is a railroad track that goes from the south edge of pinckneyville to duquoin. Burning star 2 was to the north of the tracks and freeman fidelity was on the south side.
