Cincinnati, OH: Clare Tower: NS/N&W vs. NS/Pennsy and NS/N&W Clare Yard

(Satellite)

Howie Castellucio posted five photos with the comment:
This is the former PRR Clare tower in Newtown Oh. Just outside Cincinnati.
These shots were taken in 1988, and a shot in 1989 after Clare was torn down.
Clare was the crossing of the N&W Peavine line and the PRR.
Clare also controlled the yard leads of the N&W Clare yard.
Don't see many photos of Clare as it wasn't easily accessible.

It appears that they built a signal box on top of the foundation of the tower.

Judging by a satellite image, NS now uses the N&W tracks southeast of here and the Pennsy tracks west of here. And Clare Yard now appears to be a privately owned liquid transloading company.
