Wesley Peters posted Elevator Row in Sioux Center, IA, 1916. This row contained a total of five elevators. Identification for elevators from right to left.
The last elevator is still standing and now features an annex built in 1956 by Johnson & Sons Construction Co. Photo courtesy of the Sioux Center 75th Anniversary Book. [The railroad tracks must be on the other side of the elevators.] |
There is still at least a couple of elevators. I thought FCS (Farmer's Co-op Society) Elevator was the one that still has a wooden grain elevator. But when I used street view, all of the buildings looked modern.

It is the other elevator, Visser, that still has a wood elevator.

Great Northern was the railroad that goes through this town. It looks like FCS is still rail served. There is a long siding with a run-around track. And a satellite caught a trackmobile parked on the run-around track. I could not find the trackmobile using street view.
