Detroit, MI: 1942 Davison Freeway

I don't normally do expressways because there are so many of them. But this one claims to be the first urban freeway in the country.

Did you know? Davison Freeway (pictured here under construction) is widely considered to be the first urban freeway in the country. It opened in 1942 and was named after Jared Davison, whose farm bordered what would become Davison Avenue.
Chris Parker: Arroyo Seco Parkway (Pasadena Freeway) opened in 1940 in Los Angeles.
