One of the north/south routes of the Lake Erie & Western crossed the east/west route of the LE&W in this town. The depot is in the southwest quadrant of that crossing. See "Surprised by a NKP diesel and Indiana Transportation Museum" for more information on the LE&W.

Joseph Tuch Santucci posted three photos with the comment: "More interesting skies and lighting offered me these opportunities to capture the railroad depot in Tipton. While it’s glory days as a passenger depot have long since passed, Norfolk Southern continues to use this depot as the home base for a local freight assignment as well as a maintenance of way base."
Bruce B. Reynolds: Lake Erie and Western/NYC/NKP/N&W?NS' giveaway is that street parallel to railroad is Erie Street; LE&W had its shops there.
David L White: Tipton was the terminal until about 1933, when the NKP moved it to Frankfort.
