Not only is the wood elevator still standing, BNSF has kept the sidings. But obviously the sidings are now used to store MoW equipment. I presume the hoppers are used to haul ballast. The "yellow critter" looks like a multi-purpose machine. Aug 2013

Did a farmer with an 18-wheeler haul to this elevator? I would expect a big truck to go to an elevator with rail or barge service. Or does this elevator have a short truck queue to unload and/or is close to offset the price differential. On a satellite image, I don't see where a truck would weight and unload at the elevator. But if he is headed to another town, he should be on US-34 instead of Depot Road, which was the old route for US-34. I found this truck while "cruising" Depot Road with street view to verify that the CB&Q depot is gone.
