Dysart, Australia: Norwich Park Mine and Dragline Recovery

I normally don't note coal mines in Australia; but, fortunately, I don't normally see a dragline tipped over.

What a massive recovery!
Jordan Cameron: That is some impressive parbuckling equipment!! They can't normally keep that kind of stuff handy for dragline recovery.
Greg Hetherington: The bench it was parked on collapsed. They dug down around the site, buried dragline buckets to secure the winches. Attached a frame to the back end to add more leverage for the recovery operation. After the winches were attached, the machine was pulled down while the dirt was dug out with a remote dozer. The photo appears to be from just before the last part of the recovery.
Bob Rogers: Phil Spencer they had it back to level 16/9/2008. Back to work 07/10/2008. Not sure on the actual date it went into the pit.
Dennis McManus: Bob Rogers This was Ramp 20N at Norwich Park. It fell in on 15 July.

What was it attached to on the right? [Buried dragline buckets]

I just could not resist: the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Before they even dug the holes for the dragline buckets for the anchors, they removed the top of the bench except for what they left under the dragline itself. I'm reminded that strip mines have equipment that can remove a lot of dirt quickly.

The bulldozer was remote controlled.

It looks like this one rolled over rather than just tip over.
