It is so nice to see a power plant that still has coal barges and piles of coal.

This source lists the nameplate capacities as 590, 590 and 620.

Unit 3 was added in 1977. [cardinalopco]

As I noticed in the first street view, it looks like Unit 3 was built downstream from the first two units. And it was built with scrubbers. That is, it doesn't have an old smokestack. I don't know why the one it has is so short.

Charlie Mason: Ian Hapsias Yes
[From some of the comments, the current plan is to retire #3 in 2028 and convert #1 and #2 to gas.]

"The plant has invested more than $1 billion into environmental upgrades — making it one of the cleanest coal-fired power plants in the world."

The next day I came across this photo. It looks like all three units are running as of Sep 2023.

It was certainly a beautiful day for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Wellsburg Bridge which now connects the communities of Brilliant, Ohio, and Wellsburg, West Virginia! Deputy Director Tom Corey shared "Today is a momentous occasion for our transportation agencies, but most importantly for the communities of Brilliant and Wellsburg. We are honored to have been a part of this remarkable accomplishment and to celebrate with you all today!"

Even something as conceptually simple as placing screens on the cooling water intake to help save fish can be complicated. In this case sedimentation was the issue. [iihrengineering]

The don't have an ash disposal problem because they sell it to help make cement. [cardinalopco]
