Roundhouse: (Satellite)
Mateo Pelissier posted Brookville Equipment Corp. in Brookville, PA has a very unique layout, with the turntable leading to various buildings and shops. Boyd Walker: Are there still any tracks there? Is the turntable intact? Shane Rosencrance: Boyd Walker it's a modern locomotive manufacturer, still very much active. They are leasing the adjacent former Pittsburg & Shawmut shop complex from the BPRR as well. Bill Husband: That’s a telling comment. Big capital investments and not enough railroad revenue or cash flow to justify purchases. Tim Fuller: Bill Husband They make small industrial switchers and rail-related mining equipment like people-haulers. Much smaller capital outlay than (It is interesting that the map doesn't show the roundhouse. Topo maps typically do show roundhouses.) a "mainline" std gauge locomotive. |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Shane's comment Thanks for the BPRR reporting marks. I determined that Pittsburg & Shawmut was the historic name. But all I could find for the current name was gwrr. https://www.gwrr.com/bprr/ 1949 Brookville Quad @ 62,500 (It is interesting that the map doesn't show the roundhouse. BPRR also operates the Pennsy route to the east. Pennsy to the west is abandoned.
